Travelers passing through Vancouver International Airport (YVR) can now enjoy a taste of a local favorite with the recent opening of Lee’s Donuts in the Domestic Terminal. This new addition, situated near Gate B14 after security, marks the 14th local brand to debut at YVR since 2022.
Established in Vancouver’s Granville Island Public Market in 1979, Lee’s Donuts has been a beloved staple for 45 years, offering fresh, scratch-made donuts daily. The new YVR location is the sixth in the Greater Vancouver area, expanding the reach of their classic treats.
Current owners Allan and Celine Bacani, who took over the business in 2017, continue to uphold the brand’s tradition of delivering comfort and happiness through their artisanal donuts. Their commitment to quality has garnered widespread recognition, including a feature on David Chang’s Netflix series, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, in 2019, which significantly boosted the shop’s popularity.
Lee’s Donuts has since earned accolades from local media, been highlighted in the Goop guide to Vancouver, and received top honors from the Georgia Straight’s annual Golden Plates Awards.
The donut shop prides itself on using original recipes and natural ingredients. Their menu includes timeless favorites like the Honey Dip, Sprinkle Iced cake donut, and the Jelly Filled donut, a choice highly favored by celebrities such as Seth Rogen and David Chang.
