Baker’s Dozen Donuts Expands with Second Location in Folsom.
FOLSOM, Calif. — After 35 years of serving the Folsom community, Baker’s Dozen Donuts has opened its second location earlier this month, aiming to bring their popular treats to a broader audience.
The new store, which began operations on August 1st, is located at 2700 East Bidwell St., Suite #300. This new spot is just 10 minutes east of their original location at 717 East Bidwell St., Suite #1, which has been a local favorite since it first opened its doors in 1989. According to Sopha Sean, a spokesperson for Baker’s Dozen, the second location was strategically placed closer to Highway 50, El Dorado Hills, and Placerville, making it more accessible for a wider range of customers.
“We wanted to make it more convenient for our customers,” Sean explained.
The original shop, nestled near Historic Folsom, has seen the recent closure of neighboring businesses, including Sweet Dozen Cones, an ice cream shop, and J. Wild’s, a barbecue restaurant. Despite this, Baker’s Dozen Donuts continues to thrive, a success Sean attributes to a dedicated team of employees and the shop’s commitment to offering affordable products.
“If you have $2, you can buy a doughnut,” Sean said, highlighting the shop’s accessible pricing.
Sean assured that customers will find no differences between the two locations. Both shops continue to offer the same beloved products that have been a staple of the business for the past 35 years, often featuring fun and themed designs on their baked goods.
“Everything is the same: traditional doughnuts, family-made with love,” Sean added.
The doughnut shops are operated by Richard and Sopha Tep, who took over the business in 2018 from Sopha’s aunt, Cindy.
As for future plans, Sean mentioned that a third location could be on the horizon, but the decision will depend on the performance of the new shop.
“We’ll see how this one goes,” she said.
