StowNut Donut and Diner Catches Fire After Hours.
StowNut Donut and Diner, a beloved eatery in Stow, experienced a fire late Wednesday afternoon after closing for the day.
Stow Fire Chief Mark Stone reported that firefighters arrived at the scene around 4:40 p.m. and found no one inside the restaurant. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
The fire is believed to have started in the maintenance room, but the entire restaurant sustained smoke damage. Chief Stone indicated that the business will likely be closed for several weeks as repairs are made.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Stow Mayor John Pribonic reassured the community on his Facebook page, stating, “everyone is fine,” and commended the nearby fire departments for their swift response.
When firefighters arrived, they saw thick black smoke pouring from the building. By 7 p.m., the fire had been extinguished, but crews remained on site to ensure safety.
StowNut Donut and Diner is located in the Crossroads at Fishcreek Shopping Center at the intersection of Fishcreek and Graham roads.
