Singapore Celebrates 59th National Day with Special Doughnuts from Ya Kun Kaya Toast and Mister Donut.

On August 9, Singapore will celebrate its 59th National Day. To mark this occasion, homegrown chain Ya Kun Kaya Toast has partnered with the popular Japanese doughnut brand Mister Donut. Together, they are launching two unique doughnuts inspired by the classic Singaporean breakfast of kaya toast and coffee.

The new offerings include the Ya Kun Kaya Cream doughnut and the Ya Kun Kopi Pon De Ring. Each doughnut is priced at S$3 (US$2.24). Customers can also purchase six for S$14 or ten for S$23. These limited-edition flavors will be available from August 1 to 31 at all Mister Donut outlets across Singapore, presented in charming paper pouches featuring the logos of both brands.

For every two doughnuts purchased from this collaboration, customers will receive a Ya Kun Kaya Toast scratch-and-win card. Prizes include discounts on Value Set Meals, free upsizes for hot kopi or tea, and S$1 off any muffin purchase. This promotion offers a unique opportunity for fans of Ya Kun’s meals, especially for those who have noticed rising prices.

Scratch cards will be available only to the first 100 customers each day at every Mister Donut location, with a limit of one card per person.

Ya Kun Kaya Cream Doughnut – S$3

This bomboloni-style doughnut resembles Ya Kun’s kaya toast, featuring a generous filling that combines pandan-scented whipped cream and Ya Kun’s kaya. The doughnut, which is dusted with sugar, offers a delightful twist on the traditional kaya toast, making it a comforting treat. Pairing it with a cup of kopi elevates the experience to a true Singaporean breakfast.

Ya Kun Kopi Pon De Ring – S$3

The Ya Kun Kopi Pon De Ring is another innovative creation from this collaboration. This doughnut incorporates Ya Kun’s classic kopi-o flavor into Mister Donut’s chewy Pon De Ring. It is dipped in coffee-flavored milk chocolate that reflects the bitterness of Nanyang-style kopi-o, with visible coffee powder specks.

While some may find the bitterness overwhelming, the mochi dough delivers a delightful coffee aroma. This doughnut impressively captures the essence of local kopi in a Japanese treat, making it a must-try for doughnut lovers.
