MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Duck Donuts Unveils New Summertime Treat: The Donut Ice Cream Sandwich
Duck Donuts has introduced a delightful twist on a summer classic: the ice cream sandwich. Starting today, guests can enjoy creamy vanilla ice cream nestled between two halves of a Duck Donut.
Available through September 3, this treat comes in two varieties. Customers can choose between a rich chocolate cake-based donut or the traditional vanilla cake donut, according to a company press release.
For an added touch, guests can have their sandwiches rolled in crunchy OREO Cookie Pieces or colorful sprinkles.
“This fun product emphasizes our commitment to innovation by looking at our core menu item in a brand-new way,” said Betsy Hamm, Duck Donuts CEO. “There is nothing better than ice cream in the summer, except when it is sandwiched between a Duck Donut. Don’t let the summer slip away without giving this all-new treat a try.”
Duck Donuts is known for its warm, made-to-order donuts. Upon entering the store, customers are greeted with the aroma of freshly baked vanilla cake donuts. They can create their own donut combinations from a variety of coatings, toppings, and drizzles, including classics like chocolate icing with sprinkles and unique options like maple icing with bacon.
The family-friendly stores also feature a viewing area where customers can watch their donuts being made.
Duck Donuts opened its first locations in 2007 in the beach towns of Duck and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, aiming to create an oasis for vacationers. Headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, the company began franchising in 2013.
