First-ever Minions collaboration launches just in time for Despicable Me 4.
Japan’s leading doughnut chain, Mister Donut, is renowned for its collaborations with local brands and businesses. Now, it’s teaming up with some beloved international characters — the Minions!
This new collaboration coincides with the upcoming release of Despicable Me 4 in Japan on July 19, where the Minions once again take center stage, continuing their popularity since the first film premiered in 2010. The new doughnuts bring the Minions’ playful spirit to some of Mister Donut’s most popular items.
The reimagined Pon de Ring doughnut features bright yellow banana milk-flavored chocolate icing, topped with blue sugar chocolate popping candy to resemble the Minions’ denim overalls. The popping candy adds a crackling texture, echoing the Minions’ mischievous nature, along with their signature chocolate eyes.
For the Old-Fashioned doughnut, Mister Donut adds a mango sauce coating and a secret whipped cream filling inside, capturing the Minions’ playful personality. Each doughnut is adorned with a character face for a complete Minion makeover.
Bite-sized golden chocolate balls are filled with whipped chocolate cream, with one special Minion ball coated in yellow banana milk-flavored chocolate, adding a touch of Minion mischief.
Given the Minions’ expressive eyes, Mister Donut has created four different chocolate versions for the Golden Pop and Pon de Popping Ring doughnuts. The Minion Mango Fashion doughnut features one of three different facial expressions, adding an element of surprise with each bite.
For dedicated fans, the chain is also offering a couple of exclusive glasses. While the doughnuts can be purchased individually, the glasses are available only as part of special sets.
The Minion Tsuyoko Glass Set (660 yen for eat-in or 648 yen for takeout) includes one glass, one Minion doughnut of your choice, and a specially marked paper bag.
