WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – A new bakery, Raspberry Cake, has opened its doors on the north side of Wausau today.
The bakery is owned by two Ukrainian chefs, Pavlo Shuhailo and Anastasiia Reimus. The pair met while working in the restaurant industry in Poland and have been collaborating for seven years.
Due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Shuhailo and Reimus were unable to return home and decided to move to the United States last year with the dream of starting their own business.
With the help of a local realty company, they secured a space for their bakery and officially opened Raspberry Cake.
Currently, Raspberry Cake offers a variety of European desserts, including cakes and pastries. Shuhailo and Reimus plan to expand their menu to include savory items, such as sandwiches, in the near future. Their focus is on using fresh, local ingredients and creating new menu items weekly.
Shuhailo and Reimus enjoy sharing their passion for desserts with the community and love discussing their business.
Raspberry Cake is open seven days a week at 1707 Merrill Ave. in Wausau. They also offer catering services for birthdays, weddings, and corporate events.
