Grand Junction, CO — Cinnabon has opened a new bakery in Mesa Mall, offering residents a fresh alternative to the pre-packaged Cinnabon treats previously available only at local Maverik gas stations.
The new franchise-owned store, which opened this past weekend, features a variety of freshly baked goods, including Cinnabon’s renowned cinnamon rolls.
Jeremy Shimer, director of operations for the Mesa Mall Cinnabon, explained that Grand Junction was selected for its growth potential and the steady expansion of the mall, which contrasts with the decline of many malls nationwide.
“The owners visited and walked around the mall, then researched the city’s growth,” Shimer said. “Grand Junction is on the rise, and we want to be part of that.”
Shimer highlighted that this Cinnabon location provides a unique experience for Grand Valley residents, offering fresh products made on-site.
“I believe our bakery’s Cinnabons taste much better than the frozen ones at Maverik,” Shimer said. “We make everything fresh. Customers can watch the process—from rolling the dough to baking in the oven—similar to a pizzeria where pizzas are made in front of you. That’s a major perk.”
Tuesdays are particularly popular at the new bakery, with special offers allowing customers to save up to $7 on packs of treats.
Cinnabon in Mesa Mall is open every day, aligning its hours with the mall’s operating schedule.
“If the mall’s open, we’re open,” Shimer stated. “If the mall’s closed, we’re closed.”
