In today’s digital age, information spreads swiftly, yet its accuracy can sometimes be questionable.
A social media post in April sparked widespread speculation that DK Donuts, a longtime fixture on State Street, would shutter its doors after two decades and relocate to Nampa. Angkearot Long, the owner of DK Donuts, clarified that while a new location is indeed opening in Nampa, the original State Street location is not closing. In fact, Long revealed that they are finalizing a new lease agreement, aiming for a decade-long tenure. Additionally, plans are underway for renovations including improvements to the parking lot and roof repairs.
“We’re committed to enhancing the State Street location, making it more appealing and functional,” Long emphasized.
During the height of the rumors, Long was overseas in Cambodia, where he expressed feeling uneasy about misinformation circulating regarding his business. DK Donuts has solidified its presence in Boise, drawing patrons from far and wide, including high-profile visitors like Arkansas head basketball coach John Calipari, a repeat customer during his NCAA tournament visits in 2018.
Looking ahead, DK’s new Nampa location is slated to open on 12th Ave. and 2nd St., occupying the former Puffy Mondaes spot across from Hong Kong Restaurant, with an anticipated opening date in October.
“We’re thrilled to introduce our offerings to Nampa,” Long affirmed.
