Deputy Bagel, a new small-batch sourdough bagel shop, has begun a six-month stint at a downtown Calgary location.
Each day, Deputy Bagel will bake 250 sourdough bagels at Phil & Sebastian’s Calgary Place outpost.
These bagels are long-fermented, hand-rolled, and kettle-boiled, available in flavors like sea salt, sesame, everything, and asiago and rosemary.
Customers can top the bagels with cultured butter or a variety of cream cheese flavors.
The menu also includes sandwiches and tartines, featuring toppings such as smoked salmon, smoked turkey, tomato, and scallion.
Bagels are available for purchase individually or in half or full dozens to take home.
“Bagels and delicious coffee have always been a natural pairing, and we are very grateful to @philandseb for the opportunity to bring them together,” Deputy Bagel shared in an Instagram post.
Phil & Sebastian’s Calgary location operates Monday to Friday, but Deputy Bagel may have weekend pop-ups announced on their Instagram.
