YAKIMA – Jenny Mae’s Bakery, a cornerstone of the local community known for its commitment to serving individuals with dietary restrictions, is commemorating its 15th anniversary this year.
Founded in the fall of 2009 by Jennifer Simmons, Jenny Mae’s Bakery emerged three years after some of Simmons’ family members were diagnosed with celiac disease. Since its inception, the bakery has steadfastly upheld a promise to produce goods completely devoid of gluten, dairy, and soy.
“We initially identified a few recipes that resonated with our family, and from there, I started baking for friends and family,” Simmons recalled. “It was primarily our bread that sealed the deal for me to start the bakery. A friend’s encouragement was instrumental in pushing me to take that leap.”
Jenny Mae’s Bakery has become a cherished destination for those seeking delicious treats without compromising their dietary needs. Over the years, the bakery has expanded its offerings while maintaining its unwavering commitment to quality and inclusivity. As it marks this significant milestone, Jenny Mae’s Bakery looks forward to continuing its mission of providing tasty and allergen-free options for the community it serves.
