Beloved South Jersey Bakery/Cafe Reopens

by Celia

A cherished South Jersey bakery, known for supplying exceptional bread and specialty products to local restaurants and stores, has reopened.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced the bakery to adapt. They pivoted from their baking facility and industrial parking in Mount Laurel, opening a storefront and beginning to sell directly to the public. Thanks to their skills and a supportive community, their new venture quickly became popular.

Their small store thrived, offering pastries, breads, Italian cakes, and other specialties despite the limited space.

In November, they faced another setback when they lost their lease. However, this led to a new opportunity. They relocated their baking operations to Gloucester City and moved the retail store to a more visible location on Route 73 in Mount Laurel.

The grand reopening took place last weekend, much to the delight of local customers. A visit to the store revealed an impressive selection of locally baked bread, pizzas, cookies, and pastries. The store also features a variety of imported Italian goodies that are sure to tempt any shopper.

The family-run business, led by Rich and Donna Boaggio and their sons Kevin and Jeff, is thriving. The friendly, knowledgeable staff contributes to making this bakery/cafe/mercato a special place.
