The Russell Gauley Pancake Day event held on Sunday, May 5, at the Vankleek Hill Fairgrounds was a resounding success, drawing crowds akin to hotcakes in the small town.
Organized annually by the Hawkesbury Rotary Club and supported by the Vankleek Hill community, the breakfast fundraiser aims to generate funds for the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) Foundation, specifically to support the Chemotherapy Department at HGH.
Beyond its charitable purpose, the event fosters a sense of community and family involvement. At this year’s event, multiple generations of the Lawton family were actively involved in serving, highlighting the event’s family-friendly atmosphere.
