Ormond Beach, FL – The sweet scent of doughnuts filled the air as participants raced to the finish line in the seventh annual Donut Dash 5K, hosted by the Ormond Beach Police Athletic League (PAL) on April 24.
With over 300 eager participants, the event saw individuals of all ages walking and running along the picturesque route through The Trails and Tomoka Oaks neighborhoods. Along the way, runners indulged in Krispy Kreme doughnuts at designated doughnut stations, providing them with the sugar rush needed to conquer the course.
Before the race commenced, Ormond Beach Police Department Chief Jesse Godfrey extended a warm welcome to all attendees. He expressed gratitude to the staff, sponsors, and participants for their unwavering support, setting the stage for an exciting event.
Upon crossing the finish line, each participant received a medal as a token of recognition for their hard work and dedication.
The event also featured booths from sponsors such as Delta Life Fitness, New Journey Chiropractic, and Revive Fitness. Attendees had the opportunity to gather information about these businesses and demonstrate their support for the community. Notably, all proceeds from the Donut Dash contribute to the Ormond Beach PAL youth programs, furthering their mission to empower young individuals.
Marking the conclusion of the Daytona Running Series 2023-2024 season, the Donut Dash added a sweet finale to the racing calendar, leaving participants eagerly awaiting the next installment of this beloved event.
