The reopening of a bakery in Gaza sparked a significant turnout as people lined up eagerly for bread. Among the establishments to resume operations in the northern Gaza Strip, “Kamel Ajour Bakery” drew crowds, signaling a hopeful return to normalcy amid challenging times.
Expressing relief at the availability of bread, Abo Belal Abo Jabal, a Palestinian, highlighted the financial strain endured during the scarcity of essential food items. He emphasized the exorbitant prices of flour, citing costs ranging from 90 to 100 shekels per kilogram ($23.8-26.5), which exacerbated the financial burdens faced by many residents.
The scene at the bakery underscored the pressing need for affordable food supplies in Gaza, where economic hardships have deepened due to various factors, including ongoing conflicts and economic instability.
