A Michigan bakery, Barney’s BakeHouse Bakery, located in Bay City, found itself responding to a negative online review with a statement on its social media platform that resonated with the local community.
Jarrid Weighman, the owner and head baker of Barney’s BakeHouse Bakery, took to Facebook on Tuesday to address a disparaging Google review. The review, attributed to “ItsHucci,” gave the bakery a one-star rating and made derogatory comments about an elderly staff member and the pricing of the products.
In his post, Weighman defended his team and expressed his disappointment in the tone of the review. He apologized to his staff for the mistreatment they received and emphasized the dedication of the bakery’s employees who start their day as early as 1 a.m. to provide customers with fresh baked goods. Weighman made it clear that such negativity was unwarranted and did not reflect the values of the bakery’s loyal customer base.
Acknowledging the outpouring of community support, Weighman praised his customers for their ongoing patronage and loyalty to the bakery. He highlighted the establishment’s product offerings, which include donuts, fresh bread, pastries, cookies, and ready-to-eat meals like chicken pot pie and lasagna. Barney’s BakeHouse Bakery extended its operations to Saginaw County in October 2023 and has forged partnerships with local bars, restaurants, and markets to showcase its products.
Weighman expressed gratitude for the community’s backing and announced a recent collaboration with Jack’s Fruit & Meat Markets to feature the bakery’s goods on their shelves, showcasing the continued growth and success of Barney’s BakeHouse Bakery in the region.
