A joint venture between peace put Co., Ltd. and TWIN PLANET Co., Ltd., a takeout specialty store “Choux Crullers” that combines cream puffs and French shortbread will open on May 2 in Shibuya, Tokyo.
It is the latest store run by chef Ryota Hirako, and there are many impressive chefs such as Akari Suda and Nako Yabuki. Chef Hirako has previously developed many bakeries, including the “AMAM DACOTAN” bakery with a concept of “small bakery in a stone town” that is very popular in Fukuoka and has many stores lined up, “I’m donut?”, a fresh donut specialty store where customers line up to buy, and “daco”, an “urban bakery” that meets the needs of the times.
The new project “Cream or Cruller” is based on the concept of “Shibuya street-style casual dessert” and launches a palm-sized cutting-edge dessert “choux shortbread”. The choux cruller comes in two flavors: original and cocoa. The original dough is a cross between a cream puff and a French donut, and the base is caramelized to give it a crunchy outside and fluffy inside.
The shop has a kitchen, so freshly made choux cruller is always available. Another great feature of “Cream or Cruller” is that the three dipping sauces (custard sauce/raspberry sauce/pistachio sauce) are sold separately.
The choux rolls are dipped in the same carefully crafted homemade cream used in “I am a donut?”. Donut, the combination of crispy choux dough and smooth, delicious cream stimulates the senses and creates a whole new taste.
