Shipley Do-Nuts, a beloved doughnut and coffeehouse chain with a presence in 13 states, is making its way into New Mexico with plans to open 10 new locations across several counties. The expansion will bring Shipley’s signature doughnuts and coffee to Bernalillo, Santa Fe, Valencia, Socorro, Sandoval, Torrance, Lincoln, De Baca, Guadalupe, and San Miguel counties.
Founded in 1936 by Lawrence and Lillian Shipley, Shipley Do-Nuts has grown from a small mom-and-pop shop offering doughnuts for five cents per dozen to a chain with over 370 locations nationwide. The company’s Houston roots and its reputation for fluffy, delicious doughnuts have fueled its success.
The first of the 10 planned locations is expected to open within the next 12 months, though the exact site has yet to be announced. Franchisee Vik Agrawal and his team are actively scouting for the perfect real estate to kick off the New Mexico expansion. The goal is to have all 10 locations up and running over the next five years, as part of a larger 30-unit development deal.
