The beloved Houston-based chain, Shipley Do-Nuts, is expanding to McKinney, bringing its iconic doughnuts and kolaches to the Shoppes at Virginia on 3801 Virginia Pkwy. The new location will open its doors on Saturday, March 1.
Founded in 1936, Shipley Do-Nuts now operates over 370 company-owned and franchised stores across 13 states. Since 2021, the chain has experienced rapid growth, including a new location in North Dallas.
Shipley is famous for its more than 60 doughnut varieties, including the signature plain glazed doughnuts, cut in the brand’s distinctive hexagon shape with a light, fluffy texture. The menu also features filled, iced, and cake donuts, bear claws, and coffee. Additionally, Shipley is well-known for its savory kolaches, with flavors like Bacon, Egg & Cheese, Ham & Cheese, and Sausage, Jalapeno & Cheese.
To celebrate the McKinney debut, Shipley Do-Nuts is offering a special promotion: every car that drives through the drive-thru on Saturday, March 1, and Sunday, March 2, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. will receive a free box of six pre-selected donuts — no purchase necessary.
The McKinney location is owned by PS Do-Nuts, a franchise led by Skeet Smith, who plans to open 10 to 15 more locations, with new stores coming soon to Prosper and Aubrey.
