The vacant, brightly-painted orange storefront on the north side of the plaza in Healdsburg is about to become the home of a new donut sensation. Dutch Door Donuts, a popular California-based donut shop from Carmel-by-the-Sea, has announced plans to open its second location here by Spring 2025.
Despite its high-end, gourmet donut offerings, Dutch Door Donuts’ vibrant color scheme — reminiscent of Dunkin’ Donuts — adds a fun touch to the local landscape. The Healdsburg location will be situated at 109A Plaza St., where Burdock Bar once operated. According to Sonoma Magazine, Burdock Bar was a short-lived venture that opened in 2021 as a sister eatery to Duke’s Spirited Cocktails next door, catering to a select crowd before closing after just a year-and-a-half.
Dutch Door’s arrival in Healdsburg promises to add a fresh, sweet twist to the area’s culinary scene just in time for the spring season.
