A driver had his car impounded for 30 days after performing donuts in front of Richmond police officers on Sunday.
The officers were responding to an unrelated call near Chesley Avenue and 2nd Street when the driver chose to perform the dangerous stunt right in front of them, police said.
After stopping the driver, officers discovered that his license had been suspended due to a previous DUI conviction. They also found that his car had several illegal modifications to its engine.
As a result, the vehicle was impounded, and the driver is now required to visit a state referee to ensure the illegal modifications are removed.
Richmond police warned that reckless driving will lead to heavy fines and possible vehicle impoundment. “We have no tolerance for reckless driving or sideshow activities in our city,” said the police.
