PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Voodoo Doughnut, the popular Portland-based doughnut chain, is set to open its first Seattle store on December 10, the company announced Tuesday.
The new location will be at 1201 Pine St. in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Doors will open at 8 a.m., and the first 50 customers in line will receive a special gift to mark the grand opening.
“We’re thrilled to bring our one-of-a-kind doughnuts to Seattle,” said Voodoo Doughnut in a statement. The Seattle store will feature over 40 different doughnut flavors, including the signature bacon maple bar.
The new shop will maintain the same fun and quirky decor that has made Voodoo Doughnut a beloved brand since it was founded in Portland in 2003.
In addition to celebrating its opening, Voodoo Doughnut will donate 20% of its opening-day sales to FareStart, a Seattle-based nonprofit that helps people overcome homelessness by providing free service-industry training. Since 1992, FareStart has served over 19 million meals to local schools and nonprofit organizations.
