An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly has expressed their gratitude to the public for supporting a fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Ireland. The event, called ‘Cops and Donuts,’ took place on Sunday, November 17, 2024, with gardaí selling donuts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Laois gardaí announced on Facebook that they sold out of donuts by 3 p.m. at Laois Shopping Centre, much to the delight of the community. One Facebook user commented, “Good on ya boys,” in recognition of the successful fundraiser.

Special Olympics Ireland also thanked the gardaí for their efforts, posting, “Thank you for being such a wonderful support to our cause!”

The Laois gardaí also expressed their appreciation for the event’s sponsors, Grape & Bean and Sliding Wardrobes Direct, as well as the staff at Laois Shopping Centre for their continued support.
