Fans of Hole In One Donuts can enjoy a special treat this Saturday, November 16, with a free “infinity” donut at two local locations. The giveaway will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at the 1707 James L. Redman Pkwy. and 923 Lithia Pinecrest Rd. stores.
LifeLink Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to organ and tissue donation, will be hosting a special event at both locations. The first 250 visitors will receive a free infinity-shaped donut while learning about the life-saving impact of organ and tissue donation.
The event is part of LifeLink’s ongoing Infinity Campaign, launched in August to promote awareness of how organ donors help save and improve lives. The campaign emphasizes the lasting legacy of organ donation and the power of altruism.
“The infinity symbol represents the idea of leaving an eternal legacy. It’s about helping others through generosity,” said Ashley Moore, Public Affairs Manager at LifeLink Foundation. “We want to educate people about organ and tissue donation and encourage them to register as donors.”
According to LifeLink, one donor can potentially help over 70 people through organ and tissue transplants. LifeLink’s efforts have contributed to thousands of life-saving transplants, thanks to the generosity of donors and their families.
Florida ranks third in the U.S. for registered organ donors, with approximately 11.3 million people, or about half the state’s adult population, on the donor registry. However, Moore emphasizes that more work is needed to spread the message. “This is a powerful way to leave a lasting impact and save lives,” she said.
Currently, about 104,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for organ transplants, including roughly 5,300 people in Florida who are awaiting vital organs such as kidneys, hearts, and livers.
