PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Krispy Kreme donuts are now available at McDonald’s locations in Pittsburgh, marking the city’s place as one of the first markets to offer the sweet treat through a nationwide rollout. This partnership is set to expand across the country by the end of 2026.
Starting November 12, participating McDonald’s restaurants will offer a selection of Krispy Kreme donuts, including glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles, and creme-filled chocolate iced varieties. Customers can purchase these donuts individually or in half-dozen boxes, available starting at breakfast and continuing through the day, while supplies last.
Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth highlighted the demand for the brand’s donuts, saying, “The top request we receive from consumers, every day, is, ‘please bring Krispy Kreme to my town.’ Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme.”
The collaboration follows a successful trial run at 160 McDonald’s locations in Kentucky and Indiana. This expansion could help McDonald’s strengthen its breakfast and coffee offerings as it competes with Starbucks and Dunkin’. The partnership also comes after McDonald’s announcement in 2023 that it would phase out its bakery items, including apple fritters, blueberry muffins, and cinnamon rolls.
For Krispy Kreme, this deal significantly increases the availability of its donuts, expanding beyond its 350 existing locations, mostly concentrated in California and the South. Now, customers can purchase Krispy Kreme donuts at McDonald’s through the drive-thru, McDonald’s app, or via “McDelivery.”
