Krispy Kreme Celebrates Hunter’s Moon with Special One-Day Doughnut Offer.
Krispy Kreme is marking a celestial event with a limited-time offer. On October 17, the bakery chain will celebrate the full moon, known as the Hunter’s Moon, by introducing a special Supermoon Super Doughnut. This full moon will be the closest the moon gets to Earth in 2024, with a distance of 222,055 miles, making it appear 7% larger than usual.
For one day only, fans of Krispy Kreme can grab this exclusive doughnut at participating stores across the U.S. The Supermoon Super Doughnut will be available all day on October 17, so there’s no need to wait until nightfall to enjoy it.
This limited-edition doughnut is unglazed and filled with a cookies and Kreme filling, then dipped in yellow icing and topped with swirls of chocolate cookie crumbs. It can be bought individually or as part of the Supermoon Super Doughnuts dozen, which includes six Supermoon Super Doughnuts and six Original Glazed doughnuts. Customers can pick up their treats in-store or order for delivery through Krispy Kreme’s app or website.
“This October’s Supermoon is the biggest all year. So, get outside Thursday night and make the view even sweeter by enjoying and sharing our Supermoon Super Doughnuts,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s global chief brand officer.
Krispy Kreme is no stranger to celebrating cosmic events. In April of this year, they released the Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut. Previous space-themed doughnuts include the Strawberry Supermoon and Mars doughnuts in 2021, followed by the Artemis Moon Doughnut in 2022.
In addition to the special lunar offer, Krispy Kreme has recently expanded its partnership with McDonald’s. On October 15, select McDonald’s locations in Chicago began offering Krispy Kreme doughnuts, with plans to roll out to 1,000 locations by the end of 2024 and eventually reach 12,000 locations by 2026.
