Krispy Kreme Partners with McDonald’s: Free Doughnut Promotion Announced.
Krispy Kreme is expanding its reach by partnering with McDonald’s, allowing customers to enjoy a free doughnut as part of the launch.
Earlier this year, the two companies announced a plan to offer Krispy Kreme doughnuts at select McDonald’s locations. This initiative will be rolled out in phases, with plans for nationwide availability by the end of 2026.
The first step of this partnership begins on Tuesday, October 15, when McDonald’s locations in the Chicago area will start offering Original Glazed and other fresh doughnuts.
To celebrate this collaboration, Krispy Kreme will give away a free Original Glazed doughnut at participating locations nationwide. Customers can claim their free doughnut starting Thursday, October 12, through October 14, by presenting a McDonald’s paper or digital receipt dated between October 10 and October 14.
Josh Charlesworth, president and CEO of Krispy Kreme, stated in a news release, “The top request we receive from consumers is for more access to our delicious, fresh doughnuts. Having Krispy Kreme doughnuts under the Golden Arches is golden for our fans. We’re excited to celebrate by offering a free Original Glazed doughnut to our guests who also visit a McDonald’s.”
From now until Monday, October 14, customers can enjoy a free glazed doughnut at Krispy Kreme by showing a McDonald’s receipt from October 10 to October 14.
Krispy Kreme has ambitious plans for this partnership. The company aims to have fresh doughnuts available daily at more than 1,000 McDonald’s locations by the end of 2024, and at 12,000 locations by the end of 2026.
Last year, Krispy Kreme tested the concept at 160 McDonald’s restaurants in the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky areas. These locations will continue to serve Krispy Kreme doughnuts during the nationwide rollout.
