Beavercreek, OH — Death Grip Donuts is partnering with Hot Head Burritos for two special pop-up events at The Mall at Fairfield Commons. These events are scheduled for Thursday, October 10, and October 17, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Death Grip Donuts is a food truck known for its three-bite donuts, which feature unique names and creative toppings. At the upcoming pop-ups, they will introduce two special savory donuts inspired by Hot Head Burritos.
The featured donuts include:
The Hawaiian: A donut filled with refried beans, pork, and sweet habanero sauce, topped with shredded cheddar cheese, pineapple, and jalapeño.
The Reaper: A donut filled with chorizo and refried beans, covered in ghost pepper sauce, and topped with shredded reaper cheese.
Peter Wiley, co-founder of Hot Head Burritos, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “Death Grip Donuts looked like an amazing local brand with an incredible startup story,” he said. “I always thought it would be a blast to collaborate with someone, and this was the perfect opportunity.”
Wiley recalled how his wife, Kel, discovered Death Grip Donuts on social media. Impressed by their branding, they decided to visit the donut truck at its next event. However, they arrived too late and found the donuts sold out. Instead of leaving empty-handed, they introduced themselves to the owners.
Cameron Hill, who co-owns Death Grip Donuts with Lainey Lucas, remembered their brief conversation. “I spoke with Peter after National Donut Day when we sold out in Kettering, and he mentioned working for Hot Head Burritos. I didn’t connect the dots at the time,” Hill said. “Months later, we received an email from him asking to collaborate.”
This collaboration is not Death Grip Donuts’ first venture with another local business. They have previously partnered with Blazin’ Dayton’s Sweet Thai Chili Hot Sauce and Uncle Boof’s World Famous Pancake Mix to create specialty donuts.
“Local collaborations mean a lot to us,” Hill said. “We are bringing businesses and the community together one donut at a time.”
During the pop-up events, guests will have the opportunity to meet the creators behind both businesses and learn about the inspiration for the two featured donuts. There will also be unexpected tricks and treats throughout the event.
