BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) — Business is thriving at a well-known Berkeley establishment, thanks to ESPN’s College GameDay.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as the first 1,000 attendees will receive free donuts and coffee.

These 1,000 free donuts are being provided by Dream Fluff Donuts, located on Ashby Street.

Owner Alex Sieu has hired extra bakers to help fulfill the large order. He is also prepared to work overtime to cater to the ESPN crew arriving at Cal’s campus early Saturday morning.

“They ordered 1,000 pastries, including 500 muffin mixes and 500 danishes,” Sieu said. “Pickup is scheduled for 1:30 Saturday morning. I hope the next order will be even bigger!”

Sieu has been serving donuts, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches at Dream Fluff for 37 years, since 1987. He is also familiar with the Cal community; his daughter is set to graduate from UC Berkeley next spring.
