National Truth and Reconciliation Day: Tim Hortons’ Orange Sprinkle Donut Campaign Returns.
National Truth and Reconciliation Day is on September 30, and Tim Hortons is bringing back its Orange Sprinkle Donut campaign. Since its launch in 2021 by Indigenous restaurant owners, the campaign has raised over $3.6 million to support Indigenous organizations and raise awareness.
This year, all proceeds from the Orange Sprinkle Donuts will benefit the Orange Shirt Society, the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, the New Pathways Foundation in Quebec, and the newly added Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund and Ulnooweg Education Centre.
Last year, the campaign raised more than $1 million through sales from guests and Tim Hortons restaurant owners across Canada.
“We aim to ensure that Canadian youth learn the true history of our country and appreciate Indigenous knowledge and cultures,” said the president and CEO of the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund in a news release.
“Every donut sold supports programs for survivors, fostering healing and hope in our communities. Together, we can make a meaningful difference,” said Shannon Henderson, president of the Orange Shirt Society.
