Makati City, Philippines – Duck Donuts, a popular US doughnut franchise, has opened its first store in the Philippines, located in Poblacion, Makati City, part of the greater Manila area.
The franchise, originating from North Carolina, is renowned for its unique doughnuts that feature a denser, fluffier, and more cake-like texture compared to traditional yeast-raised doughnuts. Customers can personalize their doughnuts with a variety of coatings, toppings, and flavor combinations. Besides doughnuts, the menu also includes hot and iced coffee and breakfast options.
The Philippine franchise of Duck Donuts is owned by Bravo Best Foods, one of the largest food service companies in the country. Edilberto Bravo, CEO of Bravo Best Foods, shared his enthusiasm for the brand, having first learned about it from colleagues in California.
“We’re very proud to have brought these unique, customizable doughnuts to our country,” said Bravo.
The company plans to open 25 more locations across the Philippines over the next six years, with the second store set to open this month at Ayala Circuit Mall.
“We are thankful to Bravo Best Foods for believing in our vision,” said Marcel Portman, Duck Donuts’ Chief Development Officer. “The Makati store, at 360 square feet, is our largest location globally, and we hope it’s just the beginning of our expansion across the Philippines.”
The launch in the Philippines is part of Duck Donuts’ broader international growth strategy. The brand recently opened stores in Bangkok, Thailand, and plans to expand to Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Australia, and the UK in the near future.
