Fifty-six Australian bakeries have been included in La Liste’s 2024 ranking of the world’s best pastry shops. La Liste, an independent restaurant ranking organization established in 2015, compiles its lists using data from restaurant reviews, consumer feedback, bloggers, guides, and other sources to identify the top eateries, hotels, and pastry shops globally.
The 2024 ranking features patisseries from over 80 countries, with 24 from Victoria and 31 from New South Wales. Hearth Restaurant and Lounge in Perth is the sole representative from outside these two states.
Among the Melbourne bakeries honored are the Japanese- and Australian-inspired Tokyo Lamington, the iconic Lune Croissanterie in Fitzroy, and Collingwood’s Falco Bakery.
In Sydney, notable mentions include Iggy’s Bread, Tuga Pastries, and Roller’s Bakehouse.
