The cherry blossoms have fallen, and our new life has ended. I’d like to say that, but it may take some time to get used to it. Sweets are the best way to relieve the fatigue of daily life! On my day off, I went to a cafe in Takarazuka that serves delicious donuts.
When it comes to cafes and snacks in Takarazuka, sandwiches are the most famous, but donuts have also become more popular in recent years. We visited “SHICT”, a cafe that claims to sell 800 donuts a day despite being just a cafe.
The location is a 1-minute walk from Hankyu Takarazuka Station. When you enter the store, you will see a display case filled with donuts of various flavors. In addition to the standard original and sugar flavors, there are also flavors such as strawberry, chocolate, matcha, etc., which all look delicious. I decided to take the donuts away so that I can eat them with my daughter when I get home. The price varies depending on the flavor, starting from 200 yen.
I ordered an Earl Grey tea jelly latte at the store. This is another popular drink at SHICT. The citrus scent of Earl Grey tea and the cold jelly are perfect for the upcoming season. Earl Grey tea has a soothing effect on the stomach. And the quiet atmosphere in the store made it possible for me to spend some relaxing time alone.
I was attracted by the rich ingredients of strawberry and chocolate, so I decided to take both flavors home this time. Even the label on the box is cute.
I opened it immediately with my daughter when I got home. Filled with tea in my favorite Astier de Villatte teacup, it tasted delicious.
SHICT’s donuts are mainly made of wheat produced in Hokkaido, mixed with various flours, and the ratio of flour is adjusted according to temperature and humidity.
The crust is crispy and the inside is chewy. When you put it in your mouth, the sweetness spreads. Although I didn’t buy it this time, they also sell crepes.
I’m curious about the crepe on the lotus cookie…it looks cute, so it will be a good gift.
The store currently only has a store in Takarazuka, but they will open a new store in Itami on April 28 and in Kobe in the summer. If you live in the Kansai area and have a sweet tooth, be sure to try it.
