The second wave of “Mister Donut x Gion Tsujiri” is Uji Hojicha and two new donuts
This collaboration is in its ninth year, and the first wave this year (from March 26) will launch five products that combine the flavor of Gion Tsujiri Uji Matcha with a variety of Japanese ingredients.
The second version uses Uji Hojicha that is specially roasted so that the aroma can be felt even in the fried donut dough. Hojicha soybean powder is kneaded into the dough and then sprinkled on the surface, giving it a crispy texture and a fragrant aroma.
The series includes two items (from 270 yen each): “Uji Hojicha Hojicha Chocolate Red Bean” with red bean paste and roasted green tea flakes chocolate on top, and “Uji Hojicha All You Can” that changes the flavor by squeezing roasted green tea cream and adding brown syrup that is available separately.
The sales period is from April 23 to late May (sales will end in order). Available at designated stores nationwide. In addition, Mister Donut’s 55th anniversary commemorative product “Pon de Uji Matcha Luxury Quintet” (388 yen) will also be sold exclusively through Mister Donut’s online ordering (reservations must be made one day in advance, and the ordering period is from April 11 to May 30).
