Clintonville is about to get a little sweeter with the opening of Rose Dough Donuts this summer. The new donut shop will be located at 3375 N. High St., marking the first brick-and-mortar location for the shop, which was founded in 2022 by Katie Passo.
Since its launch, Rose Dough has been operating out of 1400 Food Lab, a ghost kitchen on Dublin Road. While the Food Lab has served as a great space for production and order pickups, Passo noted that customer interaction has been limited.
“We wanted a storefront to grow the business and provide a place where people could walk in and enjoy the experience,” Passo explained.
Passo, a Columbus native, is familiar with Clintonville. After spending 20 years in Chicago, she and her husband returned to the neighborhood in 2021. She spent a year and a half searching for the ideal storefront location and found the perfect spot just minutes from their home.
“We live here, we shop here, we support here, and there are so many great small businesses,” Passo said. “It just felt like it was meant to be.”
The storefront will be around 1,000 square feet, and Passo expects the transformation to take about six months. She is excited to create a modern donut shop and have her own space in the community.
