Fati’s Chef Fatma Ahmed is known for her inventive dishes and unique flavor combinations, and her latest creation is no exception. This time, she’s introducing “batata” – sweet potato – to Fati’s bakery in an unexpected form. While sweet potatoes are a popular winter staple in Egyptian homes, no one has yet paired them with donuts, let alone sweet potato crème brûlée-filled donuts. But, surprisingly, it works, and it’s gaining attention.
The donuts are baked, mixed with care, and filled with the sweet potato filling. After baking, they are dipped in caramelized sugar, giving them a beautiful golden finish and an extra burst of flavor.
