Even though Rose Dough Donuts has only been operating as an online store and through marketplace pop-ups since its launch in 2021, it has quickly become a favorite among Columbus foodies for its creative twists on classic crullers, its embrace of brioche, and more.
Now, owner Katie Passo has announced plans to open the first-ever brick-and-mortar location for the concept.
“We’re thrilled—the time has come for Rose Dough to expand beyond pre-orders and pop-ups and become its own Specialty Donut Shoppe,” Passo shared. “After searching for over a year and a half, we’ve found the perfect spot that will allow us to be open more days and offer walk-in service. We just need to build it out into a proper donut shoppe bakery.” She also revealed to 614Now that the new location will be in Clintonville, though she isn’t ready to disclose the exact address just yet.
Currently, Rose Dough operates out of 1400 Food Labs, offering donuts for weekend pickup and in-person at local markets.
To bring this vision to life, the donut shop needs upwards of $75,000 and has launched a GoFundMe campaign offering special gifts for donors.
