The Tracy Police Department said they used a drone to catch a teenager who had been repeatedly doing donuts in a residential neighborhood.
Police received multiple reports of a black Cadillac driving recklessly at the intersection of Crossroad and Greystone drives. However, each time officers responded, the driver had already left the scene. On November 21, police deployed a drone to monitor the area in an effort to catch the driver in the act.
An officer operating the drone spotted the Cadillac performing donuts at the same intersection. The driver, a 19-year-old from Tracy, then moved the car to a nearby residential court and continued the dangerous driving. Officers quickly arrived and stopped the driver before he could leave.
The teenager was cited for reckless driving, and the Cadillac was towed and impounded for 30 days.
