A renowned New York City bakery has introduced a lavish $300 doughnut, adding a touch of luxury to its menu.
Angelina Bakery, known for its locations across Manhattan, has taken its bomboloni—a pastry similar to beignets—to new heights with a one-of-a-kind version topped with 24-karat gold and edible jewels.
The exclusive doughnut can be pre-ordered from the bakery’s Upper East Side location, situated between 92nd and 93rd Streets. The pastry is coated in gold flakes and adorned with colorful gems and tiny diamond pearls. Inside, it is filled with a rich cream.
A now-deleted Instagram post from Angelina Bakery initially announced the treat. However, TikTok food influencer Cornelia later shared a video showcasing the extravagant dessert. In the footage, Cornelia unboxes the doughnut from a black Tiffany & Co. case, with dry ice pouring out as the square box is opened. Her caption reads, “24k gold diamond bomboloni!! Who would buy.”
While Cornelia didn’t film herself eating the doughnut, the video gained attention. On Instagram, Antonio Park, owner of Angelina Bakery, shared the video and a screenshot of the announcement from Page Six. “The clientele up here (the Upper East Side) is high-end, so the new bomboloni seems perfect,” Park told Page Six.
The Independent has reached out to Angelina Bakery to confirm if the jewel-encrusted bomboloni is still available for purchase.
Park is known for his extravagant creations, often offering limited-edition pastries. Last year, ahead of Valentine’s Day, the bakery unveiled a special “burn cake,” which revealed a hidden design when touched with a flame torch. Customers expressed excitement on social media, with some even requesting “gender reveal” versions.
In a response to customer inquiries, Park clarified that custom cake orders are typically accepted outside of busy seasons like New Year’s and Valentine’s Day.
