LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Progress continues at Prickett Preserve, where Duck Donuts is preparing to open its third Bucks County location, right next to the recently launched Firebirds Wood Fired Grill.
On Saturday, as Firebirds held its soft opening, Duck Donuts was bustling with activity. Lights were on inside the store, signaling ongoing preparations for its debut at the mixed-use development that combines housing and retail space.
The arrival of Duck Donuts at Prickett Preserve was first announced in January. The Mechanicsburg-based donut chain, founded in 2006 in Duck, North Carolina, has grown to include more than 100 locations nationwide. Its mission, as stated on its website, is to serve warm, made-to-order donuts tailored to customers’ preferences.
Duck Donuts will occupy a 1,025-square-foot space next to Firebirds. The lease was secured through David M. Bank Real Estate in Blue Bell, according to leasing representative Marc Bank. The new shop will join Duck Donuts’ existing Bucks County locations in Warrington and Levittown.
Prickett Preserve’s development is anchored by a Wegmans supermarket, which opened last year. The project features nine multi-family buildings with 200 apartment units, a clubhouse with a pool, and seven commercial buildings totaling 52,000 square feet of retail space.
Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, an American steakhouse and restaurant, officially opened its doors on Monday at 924 Antique Aly. This is its fifth location in the Philadelphia area and its first in Bucks County.
With Duck Donuts soon to join, Prickett Preserve is quickly becoming a popular destination for dining and shopping in the area.
