Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is set to welcome two beloved local dining spots in 2025: Federal Donuts & Chicken and Oyster House. The restaurants, both founded in Philadelphia, will join the PHL Food & Shops concessions program, with openings scheduled for spring 2025.
“We’re excited to introduce these iconic Philadelphia brands to PHL Food & Shops,” said Mel Hannah, Vice President and General Manager of MarketPlace PHL, in a recent press release. “With decades of experience in Center City and on City Avenue, we know the value of PHL as a premier destination and what it takes to thrive in Philadelphia.”
Federal Donuts & Chicken, known for its donuts, fried chicken, and coffee, was founded in 2011 by renowned chefs Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook, both James Beard Award winners. The airport location will be the chain’s 12th store.
Oyster House, a Philadelphia seafood staple for more than 40 years, will open its first satellite location at the airport. The restaurant, owned by Sam Mink, has long been a go-to for seafood lovers in the city.
Construction for both new locations is already underway as the airport prepares for a busy few years. In 2026, PHL is expected to see record-breaking passenger numbers due to major events, including Philadelphia250, the FIFA World Cup, the MLB All-Star Game, NCAA March Madness, and the PGA Championship.
