Pokémon and donut fans alike have a reason to celebrate this week. On November 6, Mister Donut launched its latest Pokémon-themed treats, marking the return of the beloved Pikachu donuts, along with a fresh addition to the lineup for 2024.
This year, Mister Donut introduces the Ground-type Pokémon Diglett in donut form. The Diglett donut features the brand’s signature Pon de Ring, a donut made from eight chewy dough balls connected in a ring. But Pokémon fans know that Diglett is not the final evolution of the species. Under the right conditions, Diglett evolves into Dugtrio. In a nod to the evolution process, the Diglett donut will soon be joined by a new creation: the Churo de Dugtrio.
The Churo de Dugtrio is inspired by the trio of Digletts that make up Dugtrio in the Pokémon games and anime. It consists of three cream-filled choux pastries, or cream puffs, coated in caramel chocolate. The “ground” part of the donut, now evolved into a churro, is heart-shaped and topped with chocolate.
This substantial dessert is priced at 594 yen (about $3.95), making it a treat likely to be shared with friends and family. It will only be available through Mister Donut’s online and phone ordering system, requiring customers to place their order in advance and pick it up in-store. Orders will be accepted starting November 15.
The Churo de Dugtrio will be available from November 27 to December 25, so fans will need to act quickly to enjoy this special seasonal treat.
