A 27-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover accident in Chelmsford on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred just before 2:55 p.m. on Nickel Offset Road when the driver, who was reportedly doing donuts in an open field, lost control of the vehicle.
Both the driver and his 21-year-old female passenger, who were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected from the vehicle. The passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency services, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, responded to the scene. Firefighters arrived first and attempted life-saving measures on the driver until paramedics arrived. Despite their efforts, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not been released, in accordance with the family’s wishes.
According to the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS), the driver’s loss of control led to the rollover, with both occupants being ejected due to the lack of seatbelt use. The GSPS’s Traffic Management Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
