Hays City Donuts has been a staple in the Kyle community for over 20 years. On Sunday, October 20, owner San Long celebrated his last day in business by offering free donuts to customers, a gesture of gratitude before retiring. The city of Kyle recently acquired the property located at 106 N. Burleson St., prompting Long’s decision to close the shop.
San Long’s son, Vandee Long, shared that his father is excited about this new chapter in his life. Although Hays City Donuts will no longer operate, fans of the shop’s popular croissant sandwiches can still enjoy them at The Main Squeeze’s new location at 108 S. Front St. in Kyle.
