IDAHO FALLS — Popular Pocatello Doughnut Shop Expands to Idaho Falls.
Amazing Glaze Donuts, owned by husband-and-wife team Dean and Katie Giesbrecht, is set to open a new location in Idaho Falls. The shop will be located at 2299 East 17th Street, near Michaels, in the former Greenhouse Coffee space.
The new store is scheduled to open on Tuesday, October 22. In a recent Facebook video, the couple expressed their excitement, receiving over 440 likes and 200 comments on the announcement. “Idaho Falls, we can’t wait to meet you! We are super stoked!” Dean shared.
Katie added, “We often get asked, ‘When will you open in Idaho Falls?’ We truly appreciate being here!”
This will be Amazing Glaze Donuts’ third location, following shops in Pocatello and on the Idaho State University campus. The business is renowned for its glazed rings, maple bars, Bavarian cream-filled doughnuts, and fritters. Dean noted they offer around 50 different varieties daily, all made fresh.
“Our doughnuts are handcrafted, from start to finish, and are truly gourmet,” he explained. Notably, except for cake doughnuts, all their doughnuts incorporate real Idaho potatoes. “We peel at least 200 pounds of potatoes daily, making our ‘potato doughnuts’ unique,” Katie said.
Each batch takes at least five hours to create, yielding about 400 doughnuts. Dean and Katie emphasize the importance of customer service. “Our goal is for every person to leave happier than when they arrived,” Dean said.
The new location will operate Tuesday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering doughnuts, cinnamon rolls made from doughnut dough, and coffee. The Giesbrechts encourage patience as they adjust to the new store. “Please bear with us. It may take time to gauge how many doughnuts we need,” Dean advised.
