Federal Donuts Opens New Location in Radnor, Eyes Expansion.
Federal Donuts & Chicken launched a new store in Radnor, marking a significant step in its effort to expand into the Philadelphia suburbs. The chain is also preparing for national growth in the coming years.
Located at 232 N. Radnor Chester Road, the new store greeted customers with complimentary shirts and is offering free cups of its new FedNuts Minis with every purchase throughout the weekend.
This opening is the first of three new Federal Donuts locations planned in the Philadelphia area. The upcoming stores will be in Willow Grove at 4021 Welsh Road and in Conshohocken at 200 Ridge Pike, although opening dates for these locations have not yet been announced.
In addition to these developments, Federal Donuts is considering its first store in New Jersey, with potential sites in Cherry Hill, Moorestown, or Marlton.
Founded in 2011 by culinary partners Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook, Federal Donuts is celebrated for its signature donuts, fried chicken, and coffee. It is part of their broader CookNSolo family of restaurants, which includes well-known spots like Zahav in Center City and Laser Wolf in East Kensington, with an additional location in Brooklyn.
Two years ago, Federal Donuts secured a growth equity investment from NewSpring Franchise, based in Radnor. This investment has supported the expansion of other brands, including Duck Donuts, Blo Blow Dry Bar, and Turning Point. The company began strategizing its expansion earlier this year.
Currently, Federal Donuts operates ten stores in Philadelphia, including its largest location, which opened this year in a former warehouse in South Philadelphia. Additionally, the chain has stands at the Wells Fargo Center and Citizens Bank Park. The only location outside Pennsylvania is in Las Vegas, situated at the Red Rock Casino. There is also a store within a Whole Foods Market in Wynnewood, Montgomery County.
Federal Donuts has not yet disclosed further details about its future expansion plans in the United States.
The Radnor location will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Customers can place orders online or through the Federal Donuts app.
